By the time I left the hospital, my wounds were completely healed but the scars remained. These scars shall be the reminder of what happened that night. The detective offered me a ride home. Everyday, he would visit and ask the same questions about what happened that night and everyday, I would refuse to answer him. He just simply wouldn’t give up until he would get some answers from me.
When I arrived in the mansion, everything felt different. There was no security guard to check up my identity and the identity of the person I’m with. There was no security guard to operate the gate that would open up. There was no servant to open the car door for me. There was no servant to open the front door and greet me “Welcome back, young master.” There were no servants busy with cleaning or gardeners busy trimming the plants. There was nobody but me and the detective.
I looked around the mansion with the detective trailing behind. Everything was clean. Not a single drop of blood remained. No scent of decayed bodies. I was satisfied with how the house looked. Then my eyes trailed to the huge family portrait. My dad and his wives, me and my step brothers and step sisters. It was a huge portrait because we were a huge family.
“That’s really a huge family you’ve got there.” The detective said as he was also looking at the family portrait.
“They’re not family. They’re just strangers that I’ve lived with for a long time.” I never considered them as family. Whenever there’s a family day at school, I was always alone. Whenever there’s parents’ day, I was always the one without parents. I never even experienced having fights with my siblings. All of them either didn’t care or simply ignored me.
“You shouldn’t say that to your family.”
“Like I said they’re not family.”
“I know you’re hurt and all but you shouldn’t deny…”
“Do you even know what family means, Mr. Detective?” That got the detective to shut his mouth. I could instantly sense that he doesn’t have a family. I could only wonder how he lost his family but I shouldn’t care about that, right? “Anyway, I still have a lot of funerals to take care of. It’s going to be busy for the next few days.”
It was not easy to hold a funeral for the family members and the servants. There were a lot of visitors to entertain. The families of the servants just wouldn’t stop crying. Some of them even had the nerve to blame me for the deaths. Some of the guests just wouldn’t stop talking to me about their experiences with one of the dead servants or family members. I thought I would die by the end of the day.
The funeral was over and I was finally at home, lying on the couch because I was too tired to walk upstairs to my bedroom. “Don’t even dare to start interviewing me or start asking questions about that night. I’m too tired to deal with you right now.” I said towards the detective, who invited himself in my mansion anyway.
The detective always visited me everyday and sometimes very early in the morning or very late in the evening so I gave him an extra key to the mansion because I thought it was too bothersome to go to the door and open it up for him. “Okay, I won’t.” I’m very glad to hear that reply. For once, he was not being annoying or pestering me for some answers.
“If I’m going to die, who’s going to arrange and hold a funeral for me?”
“You’re not going to die.”
“Will I have visitors? Are there people who would cry for my death?”
“Like I said, you aren’t going to die.”
“Will you do me a favor and hold me a nice funeral if I die? I’ll be happy with just you as my visitor.”
“You’re not going to die, damnit!!!”
“What are you getting all emotional for, Mr. Detective?”
“I don’t like it when my client dies.”
“Is that all?”
We stared at each other for a while. His fingers threaded into my hair as he slowly pulled me for a kiss. I always knew he had special feelings for me. When I was in the hospital, the nurse told me that he visited me everyday while I was still unconscious. At first, I thought he must have wanted to be there when I wake up so he could instantly interview me. But then, the nurse told me that he would always bring fresh flowers. He would assist my body in doing passive exercises. He would do tepid sponge bath when I would have a fever from the infection of my wounds. He would always make sure that my body was in a comfortable position in bed. The nurse said that because he was very caring towards me, she thought that he must be my boyfriend.
He stopped bringing flowers though when I became conscious. Just seeing him was enough to make me annoyed because he would constantly interview me. When I moved back into the mansion, he would still visit me everyday but he would always bring some food and made sure I eat because I was getting thin. I didn’t notice how he had cared for me because I was always annoyed and irritated towards him because he never failed to try to interview me.
“Stay here. Live with me.” I said as we pulled apart from the kiss. I could tell that he was surprise. “You don’t have a family and you’re lonely right? Same goes for me so please…stay…” Even when my family was still alive, I’ve always been lonely. I needed someone and I could tell that he needed someone too. That way…we could both just have each other.
He didn’t go further from kissing me so I took the initiative to undress myself and offer my body to him. He took his time to kiss each scar on my body. He was slow and gentle that I almost cried out of frustration. He was teasing me too much. Every time I was close to cumming, he would slow down his ministrations. I never thought I would result to begging. “Please….harder…ah!”

“Ah, you’re awake. Good morning!” He smiled and placed the food on the table. “No, I told my boss that I would be moving in a new house so he gave me a day off today.” I ran up to him and gave him a deep kiss. I was happy that he decided to stay and live with me after all.
